PVC Pipes that telescope in other pvc pipe.

If you are looking for pvc pipe that will telescope (fit well) within another pvc pipe, there are a few options for you:

MOST Sch 40/80 pipe will fit into the NEXT SIZE LARGER THINWALL (Class 200, SDR13.5, SDR 21) pipe.

Any 1/8" sch 40/80 pipe will fit very tightly into 3/8" Sch 80 (It'll require force to fit.) or loosely into 3/8" Sch 40.

Any 1/4" sch 40/80 pipe will fit nicelly into 1/2" Sch 80.

Any 3/8" sch 40/80 pipe will fit loosely into 3/4" Sch 80 and pretty well into Class 315 1/2" pipe.

Any 3/4" sch 40/80 pipe will fit very tightly into 1" Sch 80. (It'll require force to fit.)

Any 1.5" sch 40/80, Class 200, etc will fit nicely into 2" Sch 80 pipe.

Any 2" sch 40/80, Class 200, etc will fit nicely into 2.5" Sch 40 pipe.

Any 2.5" sch 40/80, Class 200, etc will fit nicely into 3" Sch 80 pipe.

Sometimes you'll have to sand the inner pipe to fit the outer pipe if it's a very tight fit. The ID of pipe is not to a strict tolerance. One piece may work fine, while another might require some work.

All PIPE is sold based on the Inside Diameter (ID). However it's the wall thickness that changes, not the OD (Outside diameter). Find a pipe with an OD just slightly smaller than the ID of another pipe. That will be your best bet to find pipe that will telescope inside of each other. Remember, pipe ID can vary, so sometimes trial and error is the only way to produce a satisfactory result.
